Christians need a church family. Roses do not bloom in the desert all by themselves. The Bible encourages "the assembling of ourselves together.
For Worship: Together, they honor their great and gracious God, uniting their voices in praise and thanksgiving.
For Witness: Together, they serve as the Lord's witness to the world, confessing Christ before the world for which He died.
For Growth: Together, they help each other grow in faith, sharing with each other the spiritual gifts they have received.
For Service: Together, they exercise the ministries to which they are suited, serving the Lord as they serve others.
For Fellowship: Together, they show a very special kind of affection, loving one another "as Christ has loved them."
As a Christian, you surely know these needs. If they are not being satisfied, and you are looking for a church home, there is good news for you! By God's grace we are heirs of a very special kind of church life. It has proved to be most satisfying.

A Divine Urgency
As far as God’s prophets were concerned, all of life was to be lived in light of and in view of a coming eternity. So it is that God’s Word often teaches us that this world had a beginning, and that—believe it or not! —it is all going to come to an end one day. The prophet Joel has much to teach about the coming “day of the LORD,” including that the heavenly bodies will grow dark and diminish their brightness. No, that’s not a prophecy of what a fear-mongering, unbelieving world now calls “climate emergency” or attributes to “global heating.” On that subject the same LORD promised Noah that “while the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease” (Genesis 8:22).
The growing darkness spoken of signals that the days of this world are indeed numbered, when the LORD will “roar from Zion” and “shake” the heavens and earth. With that comes a holy and divine urgency—not to put off till tomorrow what should be done today. Above all, the need for all to hear and also to share the only-saving Word of God near and far. In that connection, think on this: the One who died and rose again for us had the coming judgment in mind when, on the Mt. of Ascension, He said: “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned…” (Mark 16:15-16).
So it is that Jesus’ believing disciples want to hear that Word for themselves and their children, and “get the Word out” as well by sharing it, whenever and wherever the Spirit grants opportunity. Fellow Christ-believers, with everything going on in a world headed for eternal judgment, what could possibly be more important for you or for me? “Behold, NOW is the accepted time; behold, NOW is the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2).
